Roasting, brewing and serving as a social act — three rounds, one room, and an hour that cannot be hurried.

The bunna ceremony is not a performance for visitors. It is how coffee is served at home, and it takes the time it takes.
Green beans are washed and roasted in a pan over coals, in the room, in front of everyone. The aroma is carried around so each guest can take it in. The beans are ground, brewed in a jebena, and poured in three rounds — abol, tona and baraka.
To leave before the third round is to leave before the blessing.
